How to test the ink stability of the flatbed printer?

Table Of Contents

Ink is the most consumed consumable for flatbed printers, and it is also a basic factor in printing. Printing cannot be done without ink. The quality of the ink determines the quality of the printing effect and also affects the machine itself. A large part of the quality of ink is determined by stability. If the stability is poor, the quality of the ink must be poor. So how to test the stability of flatbed printer ink?

Micolorprint flatbed printers have undergone continuous research and summing up experience, and by summarizing and analyzing customer feedback, we have summarized some practical ink stability testing methods for flatbed printers. Here is a brief talk with you.

  1. High-temperature test

After placing the UV flatbed printer ink in a high-temperature environment (55°C to 70°C) for a week, return to room temperature 20-25°C for 24 hours, and perform continuous printing tests on the machine for no less than one hour. When continuous printing is required, the ink will not be lined. , Does not change color.

  2. Low-temperature test

After placing the flatbed printer ink in a low-temperature environment (-37°C to -46°C) for a week, return to room temperature 20-25°C for 24 hours, and perform a continuous printing test on the machine for at least one hour. The ink is required to continue printing The line does not change color.

Flatbed printer inks are tested for high and low temperatures because the ink can be placed in an extremely high or low-temperature environment to accelerate the instability exposure of the ink, and it can also test the stability of the ink in transportation and storage in a long-term high and low-temperature environment.

  3. Lightfastness test

The light fastness of UV printer ink depends on the light fastness of the selected pigments. QUV aging tester and X-Rite colorimeter can be used for testing. Since some printed items may have to be left outdoors for a long time, the screen will be affected by ultraviolet rays, acid and alkali, sand and dust, and air pollution, so when choosing printing inks, try to choose the light fastness level 8 (the highest level is 8, due to the color The reason is that individual colors can only reach level 7) and products with weather resistance of level 5 (the highest level is 5).

In addition to achieving various prescribed physical and chemical indicators for high-quality flatbed printer inks, its stability is also very important. When buying ink, do not blindly pursue cheap, because, in cheap ink, the raw materials used must be low in price and low in quality, resulting in different sizes of ink pigment particles, instability of the suspension system, and precipitation over time and temperature. , The phenomenon of delamination will directly lead to the blockage of the print head of the flatbed printer, and even cause serious consequences such as burning the nozzle. Therefore, the flatbed printer must use high-quality ink.
