Common Causes of “Printing Limit Exceeded” Errors on UV Flatbed Printers
During the printing process, UV flatbed printers may occasionally display a “printing limit exceeded” error. This issue is typically caused by one of the following six factors: poor encoder contact, damaged encoder, misaligned grating strip, oversized image array, incorrect printing direction, or damaged software.
1. Poor Encoder Contact
Solution:
Check whether the encoder interface is loose; if so, tighten it securely.
2. Damaged Encoder
Solution:
Contact the original printer manufacturer to request a replacement encoder.
Note: Encoders vary across different printer models, so make sure to use the correct type.
3. Misaligned Grating Strip
Solution:
Recalibrate the grating strip to its correct position.
If the grating strip is damaged, replace it with a new one.
4. Image Array Exceeds Limit
Solution:
In Photoshop or the image design software, reduce the image size so it stays within the allowable array range.
5. Incorrect Printing Direction
Solution:
Adjust the incorrect printing direction value in the printer control software.
6. Damaged Printing Software
Solution:
Reinstall the printer control software.
Software corruption is often caused by antivirus programs falsely flagging the software as malicious — be sure to add the software to the whitelist.
Additionally, avoid inserting USB drives from unknown sources, as they may contain viruses that can damage the UV printer’s control software.
