UV printer surface post-processing process role:

It is the process of post-processing the surface of printed materials, such as paper, by coating with film, special ink, varnish, foil, etc. Post-processing can increase the gloss or partially change the texture, increase the sense of luxury, etc. In addition, functions such as durability and waterproofing can be added.

Types of surface treatment processes

1. Laminate (PP, PET)

Adding PP film to the surface of the material after printing can give a smooth feeling and improve its durability. This process is widely used in book covers and magazines.

2. Press coat

Applying thermosetting resin to the printed surface and attaching it to the surface of the material by applying heat and pressure can give a smooth feeling, but the durability is lower than that of the laminate.

3. Varnish

This is a processing method in which varnish is applied from the top after printing ink. Since it can be processed on the same production line as printing, it can reduce costs and shorten delivery time. It can also be processed on-site. The gloss and durability are not as good as those of laminate and press coating, but it can be processed without damaging the texture of the material.

4. Aluminum foil stamping

It shows metallic luster by superimposing “foil” and adhesive on the material and pressing the plate while heating it onto the foil.

5. Relief

In addition to the uv printer itself being able to print relief (flat), it can also be embossed and rolled to change the physical properties of the material itself, making it appear uneven.
